We could tell you a lot of things about our modern and stylish Indian restaurant – ranging from our innovative Indian dishes that nonetheless evoke so many of the best traditions of home-cooking in this part of the world, right through to our stately townhouse setting.

But of course, we also realise that many of the most powerful words said in reference to Manthan Mayfair do not originate from us, but instead from many of the individuals who have sampled the pleasures of our carefully cultivated menus.

So, with that in mind, we were delighted to be written about in glowing terms lately by Luxury Travel Advisor’s London Correspondent, Emily Goldfischer.

Praise for an “intimate, sexy spot” offering food that is “off-the-charts delicious”

Correctly declaring that “London is buzzing” just weeks into 2023, Emily stated in a 14th February article for the Luxury Travel Advisor website that the UK capital already offered “so much to look forward to” this year.

The piece was entitled “Five Reasons to Love (and Book) London”, and drew attention to such sights as the National Portrait Gallery, which is set to reopen this summer with two must-see exhibitions having been closed since 2020, and the hip-hop musical Sylvia, which focuses on suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst’s life and work.

Emily was also, however, clearly enthused about our own Indian restaurant in one of London’s most affluent and high-class districts. In her words: “Manthan in Mayfair is the latest London venue of Michelin-star chef Rohit Ghai. His pedigree includes stints in India with Oberoi Hotels and Resorts as well as The Taj Hotels and Resorts, before moving to London where he worked at leading eateries Benares, Trishna, Gymkhana, Hoppers and, most recently, Jamavar.”

The writer went on to observe: “Chef Ghai is the first Indian chef to have won a Michelin star for Jamavar within 10 months of the restaurant’s opening. Manthan is an intimate, sexy spot on Maddox Street, and the food is off-the-charts delicious.”

Why not book your own table at Manthan Mayfair to see what the fuss is all about?

Everyone here at Manthan would certainly like to extend our thanks to Emily for her flattering words, even if – as we also recently covered in our news sectionit has been far from the only positive review of our establishment lately!

We are, of course, proud to receive such positive feedback, but equally open to constructive criticism on how we can further optimise every aspect of the dining experience for our discerning patrons.

Conceived by chef Rohit Ghai and his business partner Abhishake Sangwan, Manthan Mayfair doesn’t believe in simply ‘doing’ Indian cuisine the way it has always been done. Yes, so much of our highly regarded gastronomy is strongly rooted in the beloved traditions of the Indian subcontinent… but we are no less committed to the kind of inventiveness and innovation that helps make our dishes feel utterly relevant to the sensibilities of today’s diners.

If you are keen to see and experience for yourself all the elements of our service that make Manthan Mayfair a class apart even in this area of the UK capital that is renowned for its exacting standards, you are very welcome to be our guest. Simply make your reservation online today, and we would be pleased to treat you to all the culinary magic our venue can bestow.
