In 2000 Linda Lou Seen was diagnosed with cancer and couple of years later she would shut her precious room, and in her ultimate Heard's Country Garden Publication she wrote. "However you will find however a lot more gardens within my heat that have to be planted - your body is contacting for a rest. Stating good-bye is the toughest point I have had to do."

For those people who'd the delight of understanding Mary Lou Seen, this memorial garden tour holds a unique place in our hearts. And for me personally, it's specially substantial, since it was at night gardening State Gardens Nursery, where I discovered my interest, butterfly garden! Straight away upon participating a butterfly garden school at the room, I was permanently involved with butterflies.

I was so fascinated with every aspect of the butterfly class, using notes and wondering issues, that I could hardly delay to obtain home and begin "gardening for the main benefit of butterflies" myself.
I especially recalled waiting in line to get a chrysalis from the teacher, Cathy, the "Butterfly Lady", but to my dissatisfaction, by the full time I created my method to the front of the range, Cathy was out of butterfly chrysalises.

She did however have a few caterpillars, and upon guaranteeing her I was rising pesticide free fennel within my garden , she bought me certainly one of her Anise Swallowtail caterpillars. I very cautiously needed it home, fed it, fretted over it, until eventually that wonderful day came when my Anise Swallowtail Butterfly emerged from it's chrysalis, I knew I was hooked.

That history provides me to inform you about one of many gardens on the Mary Lou Seen Memorial Garden Visit, it's at your home of Helen and Ken Wood. The "Wood's Wildlife Wonder" is filled with plants and trees selected to attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Helen is a master gardener, her garden is certified as a North National Butterfly Association qualified butterfly garden , Monarch Way-station and Native Habitat.
