Using a prepaid card  readycard balance check offers convenience, security and control. But it's important to understand how it works, what your options are and how to avoid unnecessary fees. Adding money to your prepaid card is easy. You can add funds by using a MoneyPak or Visa Ready Link, both of which have a fee associated with them.
Transferring Money

When you want to load more money onto your card, there are a few options available. You can use direct deposit, add cash or make a transfer. Most of these methods have fees associated with them, and you should always check the READY Card website to see what the current fee structure is.

The most cost-effective way to load funds onto your prepaid card is to sign up for direct deposit. This allows your employer or government-funded agency to automatically deposit your paycheck or income tax refund into your account. This method saves you the trouble of going to the bank or filling out a check-cashing form and it prevents you from ever having to worry about losing your money.

Another option is to purchase a prepaid money order at stores that carry them, such as Walgreens, Rite Aid or RadioShack. You then give the clerk the money order and tell them you want it loaded onto your READY Card. This method is quick and easy, but it is not as cheap as using direct deposit.
Reloading Your Card

If you want to continue shopping, using your card for ATM withdrawals or paying bills with your prepaid card, make sure you have enough money to cover what you need. You can call the number on the back of your card or check through the mobile app to see how much is on it.
