Tow bars are fitted with an option of towing hitches. Most normal caravans and trailers get by with a 50 mm baseball, while off-road designs might demand a more complex off-road hitch. Caravans and trailers must be equipped with protection restaurants; these must be securely mounted on the towing vehicle.

In 1999 the National Road Transportation Commission (NRTC) introduced a set of recommended towing limits, of used by all Claims and Territories. Till that point as much as five different towing limits applied across Australia, which meant plenty of frustration for caravanners crossing State and Territory borders Towbars Coomera .

The national rules, as laid out by the NRTC, suggest that the weight of the filled caravan must not exceed the encouraged restrict as given by the maker of the towing car, or the said capacity of the towing apparatus fitted to the vehicle. If the manufacturer hasn't given restricts, which, surprisingly, is not that unusual, the weight of the filled caravan must be number multiple and a half occasions the unloaded fat of the towing vehicle, presented the caravan is fixed with brakes.

Fat Distribution We have all observed the vehicle and caravan combination with the hitch very nearly hauling on the road. Weight-distribution bars, commonly offered at caravan accent shops, can be used to maintain a far more stage page of the automobile and van. These tend to be typical equipment for larger vans, but should be considered for all but the lightest of vans. The issue may also be addressed by right loading.
