FHIR, which stands for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources, is a standard for exchanging healthcare information electronically. It was developed by the healthcare IT standards development organization Health Level Seven International (HL7) to simplify the exchange of healthcare information between different healthcare Software Development systems. 

HL7 (Health Level Seven) is a set of international standards for the exchange, integration, sharing, and retrieval of electronic health information. It was first developed in 1987 by Health Level Seven International, a non-profit organization dedicated to developing and promoting standards for healthcare data exchange.
