The second expansion to World of Warcraft, launching this week, looks to fend off competition from rivals such as Funcom's Age of Conan and Mythic's Warhammer Online.

Actor Freddie Prinze Jr recently revealed that WWE chairman Vince McMahon once caught him playing World of Warcraft during a creative meeting. It's a pretty cool story!
Shadowflame

Shadowflame is a powerful element that combines fire with shadow magic. Its effects can be incredibly destructive and can even bring dead creatures back to life. Many black dragons, such as Deathwing, use it to wreak havoc on their enemies. It is also used by Scourge necromancers and Twilight's Hammer cultists.

It's a rare form of magic that can only be forged in void laboratories like Aberrus, the lab where Neltharion gathered all of his Djaradin and elementals for this experiment. It has the ability to incinerate living things and corrupt them into undead constructs, such as drake monsters. It can also be bred from living creatures and used to forge weapons and other relics.

When crafted, Shadowflame is a powerful spell that can deal devastating damage and has a unique passive effect to boost its damage output. This effect adds flat magic penetration to your attacks that ignores a static amount of an enemy's magic resist, between 10-20. This makes it a great burst item for mages, giving you a high damage buff on your execute skills to hit low health and squishy champions.

However, it can also be a 'bait' purchase when it comes to your main build. This means that you might be better off getting a piece of Void Staff or Rabadon's Deathcap instead to amp up your ability power, while still providing a lot of flat magic penetration in the process.

In the end, Shadowflame is a good item to have on your caster for situations where you're not sure what to build next. It's also a nice addition to your main build if you're looking for a way to counter shield heavy compositions that might be running you down.

It's also a great item for mages to have on their team if you're going to be playing in outdoor content or with your friends. With upcoming gear system in World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, upgrading weaker items with Flightstones or Shadowflame Crests will give you a discount on them, so it's an excellent way to help your character grow stronger.
Fyrakk

Fyrakk is one of the Primal Incarnates and leaders of the Primalists. He and his fellow Incarnates are looking for secret experiments that Neltharion did on the Dragon Isles, which they want to access to unlock secrets about their master.

In the Embers of Neltharion campaign, players will find Fyrakk bathing in a pool of lava, drawing power from the dark experiments done by Neltharion and his proto-dragons. He can be targeted, however, and will fire a gout of fire that inflicts the Roasted debuff.

This debuff inflicts damage over time and can cause players to die almost instantly. It also prevents them from healing and regenerating health.

During the Fyrakk Assault world event, a meter labeled “Fyrakk’s Fury” will appear at the top of the screen. It progresses from 0-100% as groups of players complete objectives and activities in a zone under attack by Fyrakk’s forces.

When the meter reaches 100%, he will enter and begin attacking that zone, while dropping a powerful elite NPC to fight you. Defeating the elite rewards you with another piece of gear, as well as Drake’s Shadowflame Crest Fragments.

As you fight against Fyrakk’s forces in this zone assault, you may encounter various mobs that drop Flightstones, rare items, and Draconic Treasures. These drops can be used to unlock treasure chests around the area.

The Suffusion Camps in the Azure Span and Ohn'ahran Plains will be under assault by Fyrakk's forces during this world event. Mobs in these areas drop a variety of items that can be used to upgrade your equipment, such as wards of igira and wards of fyrakk x 5.

Collecting all 5 wards of igira at a Suffusion Crucible will spawn a Forgemaster elite who spawns a random elite or group of elites. You can kill this Forgemaster to receive Wards of Fyrakk x 2.

A player may choose to ignore the emote and just run through the zone, destroying the Fyrakk's Fury meter by killing his mobs and completing the Suffusion Camp objectives. If you fail to do so, Fyrakk will send another more powerful enemy to fight you. If you do manage to defeat the enemy, you will be awarded the Still Standing in Fire achievement.
